MY BACKGROUND AND COACHING STORY
I am a CTA Certified Coach and former elementary school educator. I hold a B.A. in creative writing from the University of Colorado at Boulder and advanced degree in education from the University of California at Santa Barbara. I am also certified in premediation coaching and as a New Ways for Families coach by Bill Eddy's High Conflict Institute. Additionally, I am the author of "A New Special Friend," a book to help kids and their divorced parents navigate the tender stage of introducing new romantic partners to the family. I have been a guest on numerous podcasts and written numerous guest blogs and magazine articles discussing both coparenting and A New Special Friend.
Having spent over a decade in the field of education before turning to coaching full-time, I am no stranger to helping people learn new skills.
I like to say I am helping people co-parent without blame, shame, or games because I specialize in working with single parents and blended families. And while each family is unique, these truths are important for all of them.
Co-parenting is not the whole picture, though. The reason why I love this line of work is because I am passionate about helping people get out of their own way and on to the path of happiness and success. Seeing people blossom and grow no matter what their relationship issues have been is the greatest gift in the world!
Learning to value yourself and convey information clearly saves a ton of energy; it helps you reach your goals much faster. This is something I learned for myself when separating from my husband. After a long marriage, it was the first time in my adult life that I had to take a good look in the mirror and find my own direction. I turned to my own coaching practice and that of other coaches to help guide me in the decisions that best served me and my family.
Along the way, I learned (and am still learning!) valuable lessons about clear communication, balance, and creating room in my life for prosperity and success. Coaching was an instrumental lifeline in getting me centered and back on a path that truly made me happy, and it can do the same for you.
Are you ready to change how you interact with your co-parent? With the world? How about with your own self? Give me a holler!
